BOTOX FAQs

Botox before and after

What is BOTOX®?

Botox was originally created as a treatment for muscle spasms, especially eye spasms, which led to the discovery of its ability to eliminate crow’s feet. Since then, the FDA has approved Botox for various other treatments, such as wrinkles and lines, excessive sweating, and migraines. Since 2000, Botox procedures have increased by 819%, having over 7.2 million injections in 2017 alone.*

When should I get BOTOX®?

There’s no right or wrong age to start getting Botox. A lot of men and women will start regularly getting Botox in their thirties, when they begin to notice wrinkles growing more prominent. However, Botox is preventative, so people can start as early as their twenties to prevent wrinkles from ever forming. Think of a piece of paper. The more you fold the paper, the deeper the crease, and the harder it will be to smooth out. Your skin develops wrinkles the same way.

Will I still look like myself?

Yes. When Botox is done right, nobody will be able to notice. We work with you to specially target your areas of concern, so you will look like your natural self, keeping your ability to show expressions, just without the wrinkles.

Does it hurt?

No. We use insulin-sized needles, which are so tiny that you will barely feel a thing. The feeling of the injections could be compared to a light poke or plucking an eyebrow at worst. It will surprise you how easy it is and how fast it’s over.

What is the recovery?

There is no downtime, and you can head straight back to your commitments after the procedure.

When will I see results?

The injections typically take 24-48 hours to start working, but you should wait three days for noticeable results. Typically, after a week they will be in full effect.

How long will it last?

BOTOX® typically lasts up to 4 months.
